A young Sophie (Wroblewski) at her parents house on Worthington Street. We suspect this is a Highschool graduation picture taken around 1933.

Sophia received high marks from her art teachers in high school and was encouraged to continue developing her artistic talents after graduation. However, because she wanted to start earning a living she instead chose the field of cosmetology and enrolled in the Betty Simons School of Beauty, where she graduated high in her class.
She opened her own shop at 247 Jefferson Street soon after she was married. Her styling career continued for more then 50 years. She was called back to duty after attempting to retire twice!

One of the original signs from her 451 Crandall Avenue location, proudly hangs on my office wall today! Thanks Mom, you were the best of the best!

This is Sophie Madacsi sitting on the back porch of her and Jack's first home locates at 247 Jefferson Street. During those early years of marriage, Mom was always busy with her Beauty shop business but loved to relax and catch a little sun between customers!

For many years Mom was a member of a group of ladies we referred to as "THE CLUB GIRLS". Once a month or so they each took turns entertaining the gang with food and drink and cards and plenty of gosip! This is a photo of a Christmas club meeting at Sophie's at 451 Crandall Avenue, probably around 1960.

Mom with her siblings, Charlie, Edmond, Wally, Chester, Pearl, Hellen and Theresa. Around 1975.

Mom loved her Catholic Church and religion. She was always very active on many church committees. Here, as president of the alert and rosary society, she is decorating the alter with fresh linen.

Living just around the corner from my Grandmother, Josephine Wroblewski, Mom always looked after grandma. She often came out to our lake Milton cottage during the warm summer months and of course Grandma's son Chester would always accompany her.
